Metal Finish Manager - Nights
Located in West Valley City, UT
Full-time- Nights
Shift : 4 : 00 PM - 2 : 30 AM (Monday - Thursday)
Position Description
SilencerCo Metal Finish Managers direct and coordinate the daily work of our metal finishing department to meet production schedules and all required safety, quality, cost,volume and inventory objectives. Maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. Assist in the hiring, retention, performance evaluation, and feedback process for direct reports. Responsible for building and leading a high-performing team and for creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the performance, productivity and profitability of the Metal Finishing department.
- Reviewing, correcting, and submitting employee time cards.
- Provide direct supervision to the metal finishing team to maintain employee efficiency, effectiveness, team work, good morale, quality and safety.
- Manage workflow / adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines / production demands.
- Regularly perform machinery checks to ensure processes have been followed and quality expectations have been met. Evaluate machines for safety and functionality.
- Organize, prioritize, and direct the flow of work in Metal Finish departments.
- Take ownership of problem solving throughout the department, and escalate issues to AME, maintenance, and shop management.
- Perform light maintenance on tools, process lines, and machinery to maintain maximum efficiency. Report equipment faults for repair.
- Responsible for tracking the cleanliness and organization of Metal finish.
- Assists other operators by answering questions and demonstrating processes.
- Show a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service. Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed. Comply with safe work practices; understanding work injury procedures, workers comp, and OSHA standards.
- Recognizing employees for great work including; improvements, process development, and productivity improvement (KAIZEN) around the shop. Communicating these improvements to upper management.
- Participates in SilencerCo Management training programs.
- Track and order consumable materials and maintenance parts for Metal Finish departments.
- Resolve employee grievances, disciplines, and conduct annual performance reviews. Participate in organizational performance evaluations, and support your team complete successful skill verification of Operators. Responsible for assessing team performance and providing feedback to employees.
