INTRODUCTION :
The Planner / Grant Writer provides grant writing support to all Tribal Departments and supports staff in the development of fundable grant proposals that include narratives, budgets, evaluations and reporting. The Planner / Grant Writer is familiar with NOFAs, and a wide range of Federal, State, Tribal and foundation types of funding. The Planner / Grant Writer research funding opportunities and provides that information to the appropriate Tribal staff; maintains a database of grants, NOFA cycles, and grant reporting cycles.
DUTIES :
- Work with management staff in development of grant applications, including advising and coordinating the completion of high-quality grant proposals narratives, applications and supporting documents.
- Coordinate grant-writing activities for, and between Tribal programs. This includes locating funding sources, preparing or assisting with preparation and submission of grant applications, and budget preparation. Also includes providing technical assistance and final review of grant applications submitted by Program staff.
- Collect, assembles, and analyzes data and prepares appropriate reports as required within the individual grant funding projects.
- Identify problems; participate in Tribal meetings to identity funding sources for innovative new programs that will improve economic and living standards for the Siletz Tribe and its members.
- Develops and maintains an annual grants proposal calendar.
- Monitors, coordinates, and follows up on the progress of submitted proposals and awards.
- Conducts prospect research to identify, cultivate and solicit new grants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Communications, Public Administration, Business, or related field, and two years' experience conducting research and grant writing functions for a similar sized organization, - OR - an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
