Job Description
Silhouette Optical Ltd, is a premium quality international eyewear company with its US HQ located in Green Island, NY. We are currently hiring a full time, highly motivated IT Support Specialist to join our IT team! The schedule for the position is Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 6 pm, in office daily. This position is hourly/non-exempt and may require occasional overtime for certain projects.
The IT Support position primarily works with end users and technical group to provide operational and technical support, troubleshooting hardware and application needs, and/or recommend process or system improvements. This role will report to the US IT Manager and will work collaboratively with other members of the IT Department in support of 70 onsite and 55 remote employees.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide 1st level support with all technical issues for onsite and remote users by means of telephone, email, and ticketing systems.
· Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
· Install and configure hardware/software according to specifications
· Provide guidance to users on how to operate hardware equipment/software applications.
· Provide hardware/software support to remote Apple iPads users
· Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve hardware/software problems
· Provide support of Windows 10 OS and Office 365, Microsoft Svr 2016 and higher, Exchange Server, Active Directory, and basic networking.
· Provide support and troubleshoot Lexmark, HP, Xerox, and Zebra printers, HP
· laptops/PCs, Hyper V server environment, iPad iOS, and Cisco phone
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree in Computer/Engineering Sciences strongly preferred
- Minimum of Two (2) years of industry experience and has demonstrated an ability to independently manage and resolve a variety of user issues and requests.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Technology background
- Working knowledge of Apple iPads
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to display current methodology when troubleshooting and resolving problems
- Strong work ethic and high level of initiative and efficiency
- Great written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to the end users’ needs
- Knowledge/understanding of Ticketing Software.
- Thorough proficiency in entire Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to learn quickly in a self-directed environment
- Ability to with communicate with Global teams to ensure all US issues are communicated, updated and resolved expeditiously.
- Excellent customer service skills are a must.
PREFERRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of Infor/AS400 platform a plus
- Working knowledge of Apple iPads
- Technology certifications are a plus (CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
