Summary: The Chef works side-by-side with the Director of Food and Nutrition and staff, delivering outstanding food and customer service, and is recognized as the technical expert and trainer for cooks and kitchen personnel. The Chef has knowledge of the latest health and wellness trends, as well as the desire to learn diet trends. The Chef is also detail-oriented and can multitask in the workplace.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Prepare and plan a weekly menu.
- Manage the daily production of food for around 15-25 people (including ordering snacks, drinks, and other culinary supplies).
- Control food and labor costs.
- Ensure preparation, plating, and presentation standards are maintained, the appropriate quantity of food is prepared, and safety standards and regulations are followed to provide top-quality food.
- Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of the kitchen and equipment to ensure a healthy, safe work environment that meets/exceeds federal, state, corporate, and franchise standards and regulations.
- Leading the development of improvement plans for all the department services related to food production.
- Recommending and evaluating new food products in regard to nutrition management.
- Displaying exceptional team-building skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with patients, visitors, staff, and all levels of management.
What qualifications Opus Health is looking for:
- Minimum of 1-2 yrs. experience in a similar role as a chef
- Health care food & beverage experience preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- Some knowledge of nutrition and diet
- Formal culinary education is strongly preferred
- Food Handler's Certificate preferred
- Must have a completed TB Test, CPR/First Aid Certification, COVID-19 Vaccination, and Health Screening.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
