We are seeking a Proposal Development Specialist/Technical Writer to join our rapidly growing small business. Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze Civilian Government solicitations, pre-solicitations, and requirements to identify key elements and evaluation criteria.
- Write clear, concise, and well-structured response documents for government RFIs, SSNs, RFPs, RFQs, and other pre-solicitation and solicitation types.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) across IT engineering, cybersecurity, business operations, program management, and software development to gather technical requirements and incorporate them into proposal responses.
- Ensure all responses comprehensively address solicitation requirements and evaluation factors, maintaining compliance with government guidelines and formats.
- Develop and maintain a repository of reusable content and knowledge base articles on common technical topics and company offerings.
- Lead proposal development efforts from pre-writing at the capture stage through bid decision and proposal submission.
- Participate in proposal team meetings, providing updates on assigned tasks and ensuring alignment with proposal objectives.
- Track deadlines and manage workload effectively to ensure timely completion and submission of proposals.
- Edit and refine proposal content from multiple contributors to ensure consistency in voice, style, and terminology.
- Format documents to meet deliverable requirements using MS Office and other editing/desktop publishing tools.
- Independently gather information from SMEs to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of the Federal Government RFP/RFI process.
- Exceptional research, writing, and editing skills.
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to collaborate with technical staff to gather and synthesize information.
- Familiarity with government regulations, processes, and requirements related to solicitations.
- Proficiency in writing clear, explanatory, and procedural content for diverse audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, business, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience in proposal leadership, with a track record of successfully leading proposal development efforts.
Experience:
- 5 years in technical writing, focused on Government proposals and management.
- Knowledge of proposal software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Pro) and desktop publishing preferred.
- Experience in technical writing for solicitation responses to the Federal Government.
- Proficient in MS Office.
