What are the responsibilities and job description for the Frozen Salmon Production Manager position at Silver Bay Seafoods LLC?
As the Case-up Supervisor at Silver Bay Seafoods LLC, you will oversee the operation of the Case-up department, ensuring that staff follows GMP and safety policies to produce a high-quality, frozen salmon product. You will work closely with the Production Manager and Freezer and Shipping Department to ensure a smooth, consistent, quick-paced packaging of 50lb blocks of frozen salmon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a crew ranging from 60-80 employees.
- Communicate regularly with all departments to maintain an efficient flow of production.
- Monitor attendance schedule of staff using attendance sheets provided by Production Manager.
- Train employees in proper working ergonomics in addition to their assigned tasks and specific techniques.
You will also be responsible for setting an example for the department staff in work ethic, safety protocol, and attitude, as well as monitoring lot tracking, freezer, bagging/boxes machines, bagging/boxes labels, and other case-up processes. Additionally, you will enforce sanitation practices with the Quality Assurance department resulting in the production of a safe product.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
- 2 years' experience in processing and packing frozen salmon for European/Domestic markets, familiarity with food production packaging, as well as bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
