As a Production Lead at our Alaskan facility, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and safe production of high-quality seafood products. Position requires onsite presence at our Alaska Processing Facility, and the ability to travel, spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
Physical Demands
In this role the Assistant Production Manager's role is primarily office-based, it can involve physical demand. This includes spending time on the production floor, which may require standing for extended periods, walking, occasional lifting, bending, and kneeling. Exposure to noise, especially in manufacturing environments, is also a factor.
Mental Activities
The employee is frequently required to set an example by consistently modeling high standards of honesty and integrity. Is widely trusted and is a direct, truthful individual who presents information in an appropriate and helpful manner. Maintains a reputation for honesty, confidentiality, reliability and fairness. - Supervises and motivates production teams, providing guidance and training to improve performance.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline production processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Coordinates with maintenance teams to ensure proper equipment operation and timely repairs.
- Enforces safety protocols and regulatory compliance, including HACCP and FDA regulations. .
- Troubleshoots production issues and implements solutions to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Prepares regular reports on production metrics, quality control data, and operational performance.
- Other duties are to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.

- Seafood Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of seafood processing techniques, quality standards, and industry regulations. Minimum of 3 years' experience in processing required.
- Production Planning: Ability to plan and schedule production activities to meet deadlines and optimize efficiency.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with various seafood processing equipment and machinery.
- Quality Control: Proficient knowledge in HACCP and SSOP; OSHA standards and regulations; Fair labor standards; Workmen’s comp principles and good manufacturing practices.
- Safety Management: Strong commitment to safety and ability to implement safety measures and procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Skill in identifying and resolving issues related to production, quality, or safety.
- Inventory Management: Ability to manage inventory levels effectively to ensure product availability and minimize waste.

- Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with team members, management, and customers. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
