Job Summary:

The Park Host is responsible for performing daily inspections to ensure the facility is safe and ready for scheduled opening, patrolling grounds to preserve order among patrons and protect property. Responding to customers’ and employees’ questions to resolve customer problems and complaints concerning such matters as merchandise, food, or service by performing the following duties.

This position starts 04/12/2025 and ends 09/01/2025.

Must be at least 18 years of age

Supervisory Responsibilities:

While this role does not have specific direct reports it is designed to provide guidance, leadership, and support to all team members across various divisions by responding efficiently and flexibly to requests for service across all operating divisions at White Water. This role will provide team members with training and guidance as needed to achieve those ends.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Daily inspection of all facets of park operations to ensure the facility is in compliance with established guidelines for opening.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve the efficiency of the facility.
  • Reviews and resolves customer complaints.
  • Handles complaints personally. Confers with other supervisory or managerial personnel to recommend changes in order to avoid recurring customer complaints.
  • Assists with established work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and helps to resolve grievances.
  • Prepares daily reports.
  • Completes projects on time and within budget.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service.
  • Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities
  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; Gives and welcomes feedback
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit
  • Puts success of team above own interests
  • Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; Supports everyone’s efforts to succeed
  • Recognizes accomplishments of other team members.

Education and Experience:

  • One to three months of related leadership experience and/or training; or the equivalent of education and experience is required.

  • The ability to lift 15 pounds frequently to 50 pounds maximum
  • The ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, and concrete continuously
  • The ability to work in extreme weather frequently
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly some of the day
  • The ability to remember locations, understand and carry out instructions continuously
  • The ability to work at a rapid speed frequently
  • The ability to use equipment such as a radio, telephone, and computer

Work Environment:

The Park Host works primarily outdoors inside a water park environment, with occasional indoor tasks in office spaces, communal rooms, ticketing booths, or kitchens. The role involves exposure to various weather conditions, uneven terrain, and moderate to high noise levels, often working independently. Park Hosts use a variety of tools including cell phones, radios, and computers in the performance of these duties. Work includes collaboration with teams and mentors, with a focus on ensuring safety and quality in the guest experience.
