Summary: Responsible for counting and reconciling all cash that comes through the Soft Count Room. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations of the gaming commission, federal and state laws governing monetary transactions and company policies, procedures and controls.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required. Some college courses in banking and finance or related area preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with a team.
- Effective communication skills required. Must be extremely numbers oriented and computer literate.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret basic instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.
Licensing Requirements:
- Class III Gaming license
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in counting money and reconciling gaming revenue.
- Prepares various reports, including stiff sheets, transfer sheets, audit fills and credit slips; reconciles all totals to the master summary; forwards all information to appropriate individual(s).
- Maintains and practices a thorough working knowledge of laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission as well as company policies, procedures and controls.
- Ensures the integrity of all Soft Count transactions.
- Maintains all records, reports and other required paperwork in the Soft Count operation.
- Conducts the necessary research to effectively resolve Soft Count disputes.
- Attends regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
- Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
- Ability to work in confined spaces for lengthy periods of time, with scheduled breaks.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Constant twisting, turning, bending, standing for long periods, manual dexterity of 10-key adding machine and computer keyboard, and good vision.
- Constant lifting, carrying and opening of gaming cash boxes.
- Constantly talking or hearing; standing; walking; sitting; using hands to finger; handling or feeling objects, tools or controls; standing for long periods of time.
- Constantly requires specific vision abilities of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working conditions:
- Work requires the essentials of speed and accuracy, and the work could cause slight eyestrain.
- Works regularly with money. Some exposure to tobacco smoke and odors.
- Works in loud noise level environment.
