POSITION SUMMARY
The Cashier is required to provide superior customer service, ensure customer satisfaction to all store patrons, cross train in all areas of the store, work independently on shift at all times and follow all procedures pertaining to store operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Greet store customers, resolve complaints, answer questions, help locate products, and display a friendly and positive demeanor with the ability and willingness to promote and sell products.
- Process transactions that include cash, credit/debit cards, checks, fleet cards, open accounts tribal/employee discounts, fuel, tobacco, marine, grocery, etc.
- Stock shelves, conduct inventory counts, ensure product delivery accuracy, and crosscheck product delivery with vendors.
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the store, including restrooms, and consistently seek out tasks that improve the appearance and/or efficiency of operations.
- Monitor own evaluation due dates to ensure evaluations are conducted on-time.
- Participate in on-going training as required.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of how to assess customer needs.

Ability to work with all staff in a respectful and professional manner at all times.
Ability to meet legal age requirements of 18 years or older for employment in departments that sell tobacco products and 21 years or older for employment in departments that sell alcohol.
Ability to abide by the Lummi Code of Laws and Washington State Liquor Laws for Alcohol and Tobacco sales.
Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests to be eligible for and maintain employment, as required by the LCC Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
Must pass an extensive criminal background check.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in using equipment for tasks including clocking in/out, operating a POS system, handling a handheld scanner, and utilizing other electronic equipment as required by job duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Education Preferred: N/A.
Experience: Three (3) months of cashier/customer service experience preferred.
A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree requirement.
Certificates & Licenses: Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s license and meet eligibility requirements for tribal insurance. Employees employed by departments that sell tobacco and/or alcohol products must complete Responsible Liquor Sales Class within 90 days of employment. May be required to obtain a food handler permit within 90 days of employment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
