What are the responsibilities and job description for the F&B Banquet Captain position at SILVER REEF CASINO?
Summary: Oversees daily Banquet functions, Events, Meetings. Provides leadership and direction to Banquet staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of Food and Beverage management and/or Food and Beverage experience
- Capable of taking direction and working with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented
- Must be able to work flexible hours, i.e. holidays and weekends
- Must have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
License Requirement(s):
- Class II, Food Handlers Permit, MAST (alcohol training)
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and motivate staff
- Participate and provide input in Marketing events and activities
- Ensure compliance with health and safety codes and policies
- Provide exceptional customer service in a professional manner
- Ensure all billing is accurate
- Multi-task and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines and guest expectations
- Participate in monthly staff meetings
- Communicate daily with F&B Management and Sales teams
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
- Implement daily plans set forth by Banquet Manager
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitations and organization of Banquet areas
- Position will supervise Banquet staff, in conjunction with Banquet/Food and Beverage Director
- Perform any other duties requested by Manager/Director
- Monitors all cash handling processes and monitors alcohol services within their assigned events
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Constantly on feet for multiple hours during the day
- Frequently lifting and/or carrying up to a maximum of 55lbs.
- Carrying, lifting, and pushing food chafers for distances
- Constantly engaging with guests and communicating with staff
Working Conditions:
- Hazards: hot food, hot water, wet floors
- Working in a smoking environment
- Indoor climate-controlled environment
