General Summary:
Perform highly skilled duties related to installation, configuration, operation, security and troubleshooting of advanced routed and switched LAN/WAN networks within the Access Network. Provide advanced technical support services and training to internal and external customers.
Essential Job Functions / Certifications:
· As required, Install CO, OSP, and CPE according to engineered work orders or service orders in compliance with RUS and NEC standards.
· Provide escalated support for trouble tickets and service orders.
· Direct ownership of the ticket monitor for internal orders and workflows of Network Support
· Provision & test Ethernet special circuits from the regional router to customer dmarc.
· Turn-up and test provisioning of Network Elements to include DLC’s, switches, routers, servers, firewalls, and cloud-based deployments.
· Utilize real time software tools in monitoring the performance of network equipment within the Silver Star network, respond with urgency in resolving current or potential failures.
· Performs firmware and software upgrades as needed within the internal / external network to maintain supported configurations
· Perform applicable backups and data integrity checks of provisioning/operational data.
· Provision and document static IPv4 / IPv6. Monitor usage and ensure no discrepancies between IPAM, Router, and billing software
· A working knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP and networking skill is required.
· Responds to security notifications/incidents and takes appropriate action to isolate and eliminate all threats to servers and network elements.
· Stay educated through industry resources on known security threats, vulnerabilities, ransomware, exploits, and others to mitigate risk to the company.
· Ability to provide after hours support on a rotational on-call basis and to work off-hours as needed.

· Follow proper procedures for investigating Acceptable Use Policy violations or other legal inquiries.
· Keep all central offices and remote offices clean and free of clutter and trash.
· Keep accurate documentation and complete necessary paperwork.
· Ability to perform the duties of the Installation & Repair Technician
· Ride for the brand, and do your part to achieve personal, department, and company goals.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certification or equivalent is required.
· A low voltage technician license is preferred, must be able to attain within 2 years of employment.
Minimum Education Requirements:
· An associate degree in information technology or related certifications and equivalent years of experience is acceptable; or the combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position. Four years’ experience in telephony or networking installation and maintenance is required.
· Ability to hold a valid Wyoming or Idaho Driver’s License.
Working Conditions:
Work generally will be accomplished in an office setting. Some travel may be required. Work hours are generally 20-40 hours per week depending on classification.
