SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the AVP of Project Management, the Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, management and reporting of assigned projects ensuring consistency with the credit union strategy, commitments, and goals. This includes, but is not limited to, development and deployment of new products and services, deployment of new technologies, implementation of third-party products and deployment of process improvement / operational efficiency initiatives. This position requires a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager who will be a key player in achieving strategic objectives. Will work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors, and will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering solutions for our Credit Union members and internal team members. Must have a strong commitment to our SMART Pro Core Values as well as the Mission, Vision and Purpose Statement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Does not directly supervise any credit union staff but is expected to lead project team members including subject matter experts and other resources assigned to the project team.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS :
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of staff, including the ability to concisely present work. Excellent teambuilding and negotiation skills. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Strong analytical, organizational, planning and project management skills required. Must be capable and comfortable working on multiple concurrent projects of varying scope within all levels of the organization up to and including the Executive Team. Detail and goal oriented. Must work well within a team environment. Must be able to prioritize and work independently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Associates Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred (Project Management, Business, Technology or related field), or equivalent work experience.
Thorough understanding of financial operations, business processes, financial products and services and applicable policies and standards preferred. Understanding of government regulations and legal requirements involving credit union and / or banking depository and loan programs.
Advanced understanding of complex data processing, PC, network, and technology capabilities. Working knowledge of project management software required. Understanding of agile methodologies, including familiarity with Scrum framework preferred.
Previous Symitar Episys experience preferred. Prior experience in programming and / or financial services is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read and interpret documents produced by the data processing system, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, employees, or directors of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical preference, and fundamentals of financial management. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations involved in service delivery functions and practices.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred, and / or PMI - Agile Certified Practitioner or Certified Scrum Master is a plus.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES :
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and possess the ability to work independently to manage and follow-up on assigned tasks. Must be a self-directed individual with a high degree of analytic ability and be flexible in adapting to the needs of a growing organization. Strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and initiative. Ability to quickly analyze information and make recommendations. Ability to manage, develop and implement technology related projects. Ability to multi-task and think creatively. Ability to interact and communicate with outside vendors. Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
