Position Overview :
The Crop Planning Analyst is responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing crop production plans to optimize yield, efficiency, and profitability. This role involves utilizing data-driven insights, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless coordination between farming operations, plant vendors (global breeders and growers) , and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
Crop Planning and Analysis :
Develop and manage detailed Crop Plan, including planting purchase strategy and growing / treatment plans.
Manage the plant purchase plan to guarantee the quantities, varieties and color mix needed per plant vendor to deliver the Sales Plan.
Data Management :
Maintain and analyze data using Excel, SAP and other software tools to track crop performance and resource use.
Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, costs, and profitability.
Provide recommendations based on statistical and financial analysis.
Coordination and Communication :
Collaborate with the grower, S&OP manager and plant vendors to align crop plans with operational goals.
Facilitate regular meetings to discuss planning progress, potential risks, and necessary adjustments.
Ensure that all stakeholders have access to accurate and timely information.
Resource Optimization :
Develop contingency plans when Crop Plan is deviated.
Regulatory and Compliance :
Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations, sustainability standards, and environmental policies.
Stay updated on advancements in crop management technologies and best practices.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Business, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and planning software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
Familiarity with agricultural practices, crop cycles, and farm operations.
Experience with farm management systems, or agricultural modeling tools (preferred).
Work Environment :
This role may involve a combination of office work and occasional field visits to farms, requiring the ability to travel to agricultural sites as needed.
