Overview
Location: Hybrid Position. Columbia, MD or Herndon, VA office and home office.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP, Contracts the Contracts Administrator will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the business unit presidents, program managers, capture managers, program finance and proposal teams on assigned programs. Regular interface is required with technical and operations organizations in order to provide guidance and direction to staff, project management, and peers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs cradle to grave contracts administration duties; handles review and negotiation of contracts and contracts modifications, initiates or reviews correspondence and monitors deliverables, ensuring compliance with company policy, contract law and applicable regulations for assigned programs.
- Responsible for detailed RFP review, proposal preparations and submission, negotiations, and contract administration in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Issues, reviews and negotiates Non-disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements.
- Provides internal customer support on behalf of the Contracts department to other departments, i.e. business development and accounting.
- Maintains and updates the CostPoint with contract information
- Monitors performance, funding and payments on assigned contracts.
- Prepares correspondence to customers, maintains contracts, subcontracts and proposal files. analyzes Request for Proposal (RFP’s), participates in proposal efforts.
- Communicates directly with Program Managers in the development and administration of contracts. Prepares and submits recurring contract reports.
- Applies company policies to contract performance.
- Assists with reporting and compiling information related to the company’s contracts.
- May provide subcontract administration support, as needed, for prime proposals or prime contracts. These responsibilities would include conducting basic procurement procedures, issuing subcontracts, task orders and modifications and maintaining subcontract files.
- Performs other Contracts team projects, as requested.
- Responds in a timely manner to requests.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent related experience
- 3 – 5 years relevant professional experience in contract administration, including experience with FFP, T&M and Cost Plus contracts
- Knowledge of proposal preparation, including cost proposals and other contracts related documentation. Understands contract or pricing functions, contract administration principles, industry practices, regulations and policies.
- Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR and other related Government Regulations.
- Familiarity with Costpoint and Sharepoint preferred.
- Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external customers
- Analytical mind with ability to complete complex assignments.
- Highly organized self-starter with stellar customer service skills.
- Able to operate independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to recognize difficult situations, be aware of when/how to ask for assistance from senior team members/management.
