- Maximize the effective delivery of food services through careful management of available resources and staff.
- Promote and enhance the orderly operation of the department through thoughtful planning, effective communication, and appropriate follow-up regarding assigned duties.
- Ensures responsibility for the quality and quantity of food served.
- Assist in ensuring that all items needed for functions and daily menu are ordered in a timely manner.
- Adheres to all sanitary regulations and standards governing handling, storing, and serving of food. Monitors all items are labeled, dated, and rotated.
- Oversees that meals are prepared and served on schedule. Performs cooking responsibilities as needed.
- Investigates trends and developments in culinary practices and techniques and evaluates their adaptability to the dining service program.
- Develops, revises, and adapts work techniques and methods for more efficient operation and trains appropriate staff members.
- Assist in placing food orders and being aware of budget.
- Assist in providing training and development to other cooks.
- Assist in implementing daily prep sheets to maximize production and deliberate assignments uniformly.
- Assists in monitors & maintains accurate records including food temperatures, refrigerator temperatures.
- Occasionally attends monthly food forum meetings with residents.
- Assists in supervision of all cooks as well as counsels/disciplines all staff according to established company and department policy.
- Ensures all food handling is in conjunction with local and community health and department requirements.
- Adheres to all OSHA regulations and safety procedures personally and in terms of staff (i.e. work assignments, incident reporting and investigation.)
- Puts Customer Service first, ensures that all customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

- Assumes responsibility for self-safety and that of immediate work environment.
- Attends annual in-service on body mechanics, right-to-know laws, and fire and safety procedures and adheres to policies.
- Adheres to all The Hunt Policies and Procedures including uniform, break schedule and smoking.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food service management practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
- General knowledge of sanitation regulations and procedures.
- Possesses the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
- General Knowledge of tracking and ordering food and supplies.
