The Disaster Recovery Analyst assists to drive visibility and influence business and technical leaders on the planning and implementing of disaster recovery capabilities and processes throughout the organization. Influences the development and strategic implementation of policies, procedures, plans, and programs to ensure the business is positioned to recover from a disaster to meet regulatory compliance requirements. Responsible for the development and testing of plans to ensure recovery, security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology systems.
Knowledge of: "knowledge base" capabilities in identifying the solutions to less common and more complex system problems; database procedures used for documenting and querying reported incidents; disaster recovery COOP plans; measures or indicators of system performance and availability; network architecture concepts including topology, protocols, and components; systems administration concepts; the type and frequency of routine maintenance needed to keep equipment functioning properly. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in the enhancement of IT governance and compliance programs. This includes technology implementation as well as project and program management.
- Exhibits a strong understanding of regulations
- Work with Business Continuity management to ensure that the disaster recovery (crisis management) and business continuity plans drive disaster recovery (DR) strategy and procedures.
- Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) survey process for new applications and perform annual review for all applications.
- Create/ maintain emergency operations plan. This includes guidelines for disaster identification and declaration, defining roles and responsibilities, command center setup, emergency communications, etc.
- Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies.
- Establish and maintain detailed disaster recovery communications and command and control plans through a change management process.
- Coordinate with the IT applications and technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, and maintained.
- Participate in all disaster recovery exercises as part of the operational life-cycle.
- Consult and support SSMH facilities on local disaster recovery efforts
- Represent disaster recovery cost requirements in the annual budgeting process.
- Regularly report Disaster Recovery activities to management.
- Act as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes.
- Help ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Evaluate current processes and procedures for inefficiencies and make improvement recommendations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates Degree
- 3-5 years of experience with technical environments (PC, Phones, Servers, Networks, Mainframe, Storage, etc.)
- IAT II certification
