What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Education - Surgical Technology Classroom / Clinical Instructor position at Simi Valley Unified School District?
Simi Institute for Careers and Education is the adult education campus for the Simi Valley Unified School District. We are seeking a part-time substitute instructor(s) for our Surgical Technology Program. Each instructor will teach assigned classroom topics and practical labs to students enrolled in our 18-month Surgical Technology Program. Instructors may also be assigned to meet with our SICE students performing clinical rotations at affiliate facilities. ST students earn a certificate of completion that gives them eligibility to apply for the NBSTSA’s CST Exam. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
> Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
> Possesses a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) such as the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
> Has a minimum total of two years of experience in the ST scrub role or as an ST instructor or both within the last five years.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
> Hold an AA Degree or higher
> 2 years of relevant work experience
> 1 year teaching or precepting experience
> Hold a relevant California Teaching Credential (required if applying as a Certificated Teacher)
Salary : $37 - $46
