Simon Eye and Center for Advanced Eye Care are partner practices with a combined 27 Optometrists, 8 Ophthalmologists, and 150 staff serving patients across the state of Delaware and in Pennsylvania with locations in West Chester and Bucks County. We are aligned to ensure our communities can access patient-centered, medically oriented full service eyecare delivered in convenient locations with friendly, knowledgeable doctors and staff.
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and accounts payable and ensuring vendors are paid timely and accurately. This position will work closely with company financial professionals and management, and outside vendors. Your success in this role will be driven by your in-depth knowledge and understanding of Simon Eye operational areas, systems, and processes.
What You'll Do:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and accounts payable and ensuring vendors are paid timely and accurately. This position will work closely with company financial professionals and management, and outside vendors. Your success in this role will be driven by your in-depth knowledge and understanding of Simon Eye operational areas, systems, and processes.
What You'll Do:
- Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts. Record deposits in transit and bank fee accruals.
- Determine weekly vendor payments via check, ACH or credit card
- Initiate credit card rewards quarterly
- Review accounts payable invoices and transactions to ensure proper coding and recoding
- Analyze general ledger accounts monthly and make any necessary journal entries.
- Track prepaids expenses and accrued expenses
- Record contact lens sales and monitor on-hand inventory
- Record and monitor monthly vendor statements
- Review monthly and quarterly financial statements noting any variances actual year to date and actual vs budget
- Prepare year end audit schedules and analysis
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting
- 1 years in financial reporting, accounts payable or accounting department
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Excellent organization and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel
- QuickBooks Online experience a plus
- CPA a plus
- Experience in Big 4 Firm a plus
- Ability to work in-person at our Limestone Road location
