SIMONSWERK is an established German Corporation which owns and controls subsidiary operations throughout the world. Its US operation, based in Whitewater, WI, distributes a complete line of specialty hinges for doors.
Responsibilities :
- Manage and provide technical support for all SIMONSWERK North America product lines. This includes strategic development initiatives, pricing, positioning, and working with marketing / sales in developing supporting materials.
- Drive new product idea generation, definition, development process, and successful implementation in the marketplace.
- Liaison with the home office engineering group in Germany and Italy; detailing technical issues relating to existing products as well as those in development.
- Responsible for technical presentations to sales staff in acquainting them with product information on new and existing products.
- Support product implementation with customer’s production and engineering staffs. Training of customer’s field service personnel.
- Assists customer’s product testing and certification.
- Visit customers throughout the United States and Canada to provide technical assistance and to assist in developing new opportunities.
- Assist SIMONSWERK production team to in order to ensure that products are developed to customer expectations.
- Analyzes the market, provide trend analysis and monitor competitor’s product lines.
- Represents and maintains SIMONSWERK’s interests at industry technical organizations, i.e. BHMA, UL, or Intertek
- Implement and oversee product testing equipment
- Managing trade show set up
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and / or strong woodworking knowledge required. The individual should have experience in new product development and troubleshooting from a technical perspective of existing product lines. The candidate shall possess experience initiating and managing projects. Success will require a highly organized, detail-oriented person with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Advanced computer skills and CAD skills are required. Professional experience in the door and / or door hardware industry is a plus. Candidate must be willing and able to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
