The Role
We're looking for a creative leader with a strategic mind and a storyteller’s soul. You’ll drive the brand forward—bringing SIMPLi's voice to life across every consumer touchpoint while ensuring that marketing is a growth driver, not just a function.
This isn’t just about building campaigns—it’s about building the engine. You’ll own our full marketing strategy and budget, lead creative communications, guide omnichannel growth efforts, and connect marketing decisions directly to business outcomes. This is a foundational leadership role with a seat at the table and the ability to shape our brand and our future.
What You’ll Do
As Director of Marketing, you’ll own the end-to-end strategy and execution of our brand and growth engine. You’ll be responsible for shaping how the world sees us, experiences us, and talks about us—while ensuring every marketing dollar ladders up to real business impact.
Strategic Leadership
- Own the annual marketing strategy across brand, retail, DTC, and awareness—with a clear roadmap for growth
- Build and manage the marketing budget, making strategic investments across the funnel and holding spend accountable to business KPIs
- Develop a marketing operating model that scales: from quarterly planning cycles to cross-functional rituals to team OKRs
- Translate company priorities into marketing-led initiatives that drive revenue, distribution, and brand equity
Creative Communications & Brand Building
- Lead the brand’s creative strategy—crafting our voice, visual identity, and messaging architecture with consistency and soul
- Build and execute compelling campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels that bring our brand to life in culture and in-store
- Oversee content creation and storytelling across social, email, website, video, influencer, and PR
- Partner closely with the CEO and cross-functional leaders to ensure brand expression matches brand ambition
Channel & Consumer Growth
- Design and lead omnichannel marketing plans that support new product launches, retail partnerships, and seasonal moments
- Own our retail marketing strategy, including shopper marketing, in-store programming, and customer-specific activations.
- Guide DTC and performance marketing strategies in partnership with digital agencies or in-house teams
- Use consumer insights and market trends to drive positioning, messaging, and whitespace exploration
Team & Partner Leadership
- Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team, empowering them to think creatively and operate with clarity
- Manage all agency and freelance partners (creative, media, PR, influencer), holding them accountable to excellence and ROI
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product, and Operations to ensure marketing is aligned, agile, and integrated
Measurement & Optimization
- Define success metrics and lead ongoing measurement, reporting, and optimization across all campaigns
- Champion a test-and-learn culture, using data to inform decisions, challenge assumptions, and unlock scale
- Keep a pulse on competitive moves and category shifts to ensure SIMPLi stays sharp and ahead of the curve
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in senior-level marketing role in CPG industries
- Experience managing and mentoring others
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work on-site from our Philadelphia offices at least 3 days per week
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred
