Position Title : Staff Accountant
Reports to : Director, Accounting
Department : Finance
Location : 86 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ; in-office position
Classification : Full-time; Exempt
Summary / Job Objective : We are looking for a qualified accountant to assist in the General Ledger month-end close process and the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheets and income statements in compliance with GAAP. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a good understanding of accounting principles, are essential for success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Enter leases in accordance with ASC 842 and prepare related journal entries
- Assist with the month end close process and adhering to deadlines
- Responsible for maintaining and journaling all prepaid expenses
- Prepare account reconciliations for multiple companies
- Ensure all necessary journal entries are booked accurately and in compliance with GAAP
- Assist with daily incoming cash receipts
- Proficient in accrual-based accounting
- Support Interim and Year-End audit by gathering data and preparing schedules
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by analyzing account information
- Ad hoc projects
