Summary
The purpose of this position is to operate vehicles (tractors / trailer / tankers) to pick up, transport, and deliver fertilizer, chemicals, and other hazardous materials to internal SGS locations and outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates tractor / trailer combinations, and forklifts to transport hazardous materials to SGS Locations and outside vendors. This includes over-the-road driving beyond 150 miles.
- Performs general maintenance on trucks which may include, but is not limited to, replenishing fuel, checking and replenishing oil levels, checking / adjusting brakes, washing trucks, and taking trucks to the shop for scheduled service maintenance.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date driver's logs and inspection sheets.
- Complete Pre-trip and Post-trip inspection. Accurately complete DVIR’s.
- Operates forklift for general loading and unloading of products using required safety procedures and safety equipment 100% of the time.
- Receiving and unloading product and performing warehouse inventory and storage functions.
- Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers.
- May assist with recordkeeping related to warehouse / inventory responsibilities.
- Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, providing back-up when needed, etc.
