What You'll Do :
As a Surgical Technician, you'll play an essential role in supporting surgeons and the operating room team, ensuring the best care for patients :
Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all supplies and instruments are ready for surgery.
Order and manage supplies and equipment, adhering to hospital and departmental guidelines.
Demonstrate clinical expertise in surgical technical skills, Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, and Materials Management.
Maintain a superior sterile conscience and communicate any breaks in technique to the surgical team.
Ensure all necessary equipment is present, and operate electro-surgical, diagnostic, video, and specialty equipment safely.
Troubleshoot equipment as necessary during procedures.
Conduct accurate counts of surgical sponges, needles, and instruments, ensuring safety and compliance.
Handle surgical specimens appropriately and ensure timely and accurate room turnover.
Update and maintain preference cards to ensure the surgical team has accurate, up-to-date information.
Collaborate with the RN Circulator and other team members to ensure smooth, efficient surgical procedures.
Rotate to Sterile Processing and Endoscopy areas as needed and ensure surgical supply inventory is accurate.
Your expertise will be critical in ensuring that surgical procedures run smoothly and safely for patients.
Qualifications :
To succeed in this role, you'll need the following skills, experience, and attributes :
Attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
Proficiency in state-of-the-art office technology, including the full Microsoft Office Suite.
A strong ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, tact, discretion, and integrity.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapting to changing priorities and demonstrating resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
Availability for weekday and weekend on-call shifts on a rotational basis.
Education and Experience :
Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician training program is preferred or training provided in-house.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations :
Must maintain current CPR certification.
Certification as an OR Surgical Technician required within 3.5 years.
Must have a current Surgical Tech license through the State of Colorado.
