What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Operations Officer position at Simpson University?
The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for oversight and management of day-to-day operations under the leadership of the president to enable the president to nurture external relationships and focus on institutional growth. Responsibilities include oversight of the leadership, overall direction and effective management of the university’s administrative operations in support of Simpson University’s mission and management of tactical plans to deliver operational priorities, and contribution to the strategic plan for the university. Direct supervision of University departments as assigned by the President.
Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in business or education required. Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of ten years work experience within higher education setting, with five years of senior-leadership experience or comparable business experience.
- Experience in managing corporate legal affairs
- Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams and developing organization-wide strategy for program excellence
- Demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence, and has experience in leading others to new levels of effectiveness and programmatic impact; ability to successfully deal with sensitive or confidential information
- Exceptional time management skills; listening, written verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time
- Successful team management skills with the ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
- Technologically astute and capability of managing in multiple enterprise modalities and platforms
