Role and Responsibilities
Order management on the buy side working with local buyers and regional managers. This involves setting prices, updating prices, resolving issues, making quotations, and formulating costs with logistics for pickups and deliveries. It includes formulating process controls; creating, sharing, and administering best practices standards. The ideal candidate will also act as a change agent in unifying processes throughout Sims Metal. up meetings.
Commercial
- Responsible for managing and overseeing a regional team (2-5 members) of supplier services coordinators
- Accountable for timely actions with a focus on data accuracy and creating an environment that sets the highest standard for supplier satisfaction.
- Developing a standardization of processes, activities, and functions across the team and within North America.
- Work with all areas (Operations, Logistics, Finance, etc.) to ensure the highest levels of service
- Set challenging goals, coach and develop team members for professional development and industry knowledge, and create a talent pipeline for Sims Metal
- Support strategic and other projects as required
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 3 years minimum experience in supplier/customer service or related role
- Excellent communication and organization
- Demonstrated passion for the highest level of customer/supplier service
Preferred Skills
- MS Office Suite experience (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Inventory and cost management
- Audit and compliance experience
- Proficiency in ERP or similar systems
- Order management experience
