Pharmacy Technician - R egistry Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Student) Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Student to join our team as a Registry Pharmacy Technician. In this PRN (as-needed) role, you will support our pharmacy operations during weekends, holidays, and staff absences. This position offers pharmacy students hands-on experience in a hospital setting, enhancing their understanding of medication preparation, distribution, and patient care processes.​
Key Responsibilities: Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital protocols.​ Search Jobs and Careers at ScionHealth Prepare intravenous (IV) admixtures and other sterile compounds using aseptic techniques.​ Inventory Management: Monitor and manage medication inventory, including restocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking for expired medications.​ Search Jobs and Careers at ScionHealth Assist in maintaining automated dispensing machines and other pharmacy equipment.​ Patient and Staff Support: Deliver medications to various hospital departments promptly.​ Respond to medication requests and inquiries from healthcare professionals, ensuring excellent customer service.​ Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of medication preparation and dispensing activities.​ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and hospital regulations regarding pharmacy operations.​

Key Responsibilities : Assist pharmacists in medication preparation, dispensing, and distribution to inpatient units. Support Omnicell restocking to maintain accurate and timely medication availability. Perform prepacking of medications to ensure efficient workflow and medication supply. Work independently and collaboratively to maintain pharmacy workflow efficiency, especially during high-demand periods. Follow all hospital policies, USP 797/800 standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety. Maintain accurate documentation of all technician activities, including medication handling and verification. Required Qualifications: Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License in good standing. Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required. Previous inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Experience with Omnicell, EPIC, and sterile compounding a plus.
Ability to work variable shifts.

MINIMUM Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Program or at least one year of training as a Pharmacy Technician or a Foreign Pharmacy candidate.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with IV mixtures and unit dose drug distribution.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Proficient computer skills and ability to type 30 words per minute.
- Good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
REQUIRED LICENSES, Certificates, Registrations:
- Pharmacy Technician License .
