What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Credit Plus Faculty (for current high school instructors only) position at Sinclair Community College?
Sinclair is seeking high school instructors interested in being credentialed to teach college credit courses in their respective high schools as part of Sinclair’s College Credit Plus program. High School instructors must be appropriately credentialed in the discipline they wish to teach.

Principal Accountabilities
- Plan, organize, and deliver college instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate college-level teaching and learning strategies
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Employ available instructional technology when appropriate, according to academic department policies
- Maintain familiarity with College goals, mission and long-range plans
Requirements
- Must be a current high school teacher, licensed and teaching in the state of Ohio required
- Must have a master’s degree or equivalent to meet the Higher Learning Commission requirements for the subject area
- To teach general education courses, the candidate must have a master’s degree in the content area or a master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area. Those with only 9 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area may still qualify for Faculty Fellows program.

Faculty Fellows Program
- The Faculty Fellows Program is designed to assist high school teachers with a master’s degree, but with fewer than 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching area. Faculty with a minimum of 12 graduate semester hours in the teaching area may begin teaching college courses while earning the required graduate credit hours in the content area. All high school teachers must have the requirements earned by September 1, 2025.
