The Sinclair Communication Department is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face for day, evening, and weekend courses at our partner correctional institutions, with an effective start date of January 2, 2025.

Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learningPrepare, distribute, and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policiesEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies, using available instructional technology when appropriateModify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needsSupport classroom and online efforts to promote student successEvaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learningMaintain accurate records of student progressSubmit final grade rosters according to established deadlinesMaintain confidentiality of student informationCannot exceed a maximum of 12 credit hours per semesterRequirements :
Minimum of a master’s degree in communication or a master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area is requiredEvidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferredDemonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program levelEffective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college communityMust be able to teach face-to-face in a prison education settingMust possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instructionAbility to pass a DRC background check requiredOfficial transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.
