The Program Staffing Coordinator for Advanced Job Training (AJT) will play a critical role in supporting the successful staffing for our AJT courses offered at prison sites. This individual will be responsible for creating and managing training schedules, reviewing resumes, and forwarding them to department chairs for evaluation. This individual will also ensure targeted faculty recruitment for our prison sites across Ohio. The coordinator will also assist candidates in navigating prison education and background check processes, ensuring a smooth transition through the application stages.
In addition, the Program Coordinator will assist new employees with site location setups, support course scheduling and planning, and provide exceptional customer service to both participants and staff. The role also includes generating and maintaining reports related to program activities and progress, ensuring effective communication and smooth operation of all related tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The salary for this position begins at $48,726.00 and is determined commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities
- Ensure all courses are appropriately staffed each semester
- Serve as liaison between AJT office and site coordinators, and academic chairpersons and course coordinators
- Develop recruitment plan for variety of locations across Ohio
- Review and evaluate resumes, forwarding qualified candidates to department chairs for review
- Walk candidates through the process of prison education and background checks, offering guidance and support
- Assist new employees with site location access, ensuring a smooth transition
- Coordinate course scheduling and staffing, collaborating with instructors and departments to align materials and timelines
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing questions and concerns from both faculty and staff
- Generate and maintain reports on program outcomes, progress, and key performance indicators
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of related professional work experience required, preferably in higher education and/or HR
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required
- Experience with scheduling, planning, and administrative support required
- Ability to communicate effectively with various groups, including candidates, staff, and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of background check procedures and familiarity with educational requirements in a correctional setting preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools for scheduling and reporting
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and task management
- Ability to work in-person required
