What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Corporate Counsel position at Sionna Therapeutics?
Sionna Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company on a mission to revolutionize the current treatment paradigm for CF by developing novel medicines that normalize the function of the CFTR protein. Sionnas goal is to deliver differentiated medicines for people living with CF that can restore their CFTR function to as close to normal as possible by directly stabilizing CFTRs nucleotide-binding domain 1 (NBD1), which the company believes is central to potentially unlocking meaningful improvements in clinical outcomes and quality of life for people with CF. Leveraging over a decade of the co-founders extensive research on NBD1, the company is advancing a pipeline of novel small molecules engineered to correct the defects caused by the F508del genetic mutation, which resides in NBD1. Sionna is also developing a portfolio of complementary CFTR modulators that are designed to work synergistically with its NBD1 stabilizers to improve CFTR function.
Position Summary
Sionna Therapeutics is looking for an experienced and talented attorney for a key and visible role, reporting directly to the General Counsel. The Senior Corporate Counsel will manage and oversee a broad range of corporate legal matters in the companys fast-paced environment. The role will be a hybrid or remote position, generally working on Eastern time, with occasional travel to Sionnas office in Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities :
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including clinical trial agreements, manufacturing agreements, and vendor agreements, and oversee the work of the companys contracts manager
- Provide legal support on a variety of matters, including securities compliance and financings, corporate governance, and IP
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, identify legal issues and considerations, evaluate possible options and solutions, and provide recommendations so that business and legal objectives are met
- Review publications, scientific and medical congress materials, clinical trial recruitment materials, etc.
- Participate in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures on an array of legal and compliance matters, and training employees on same
- Handle other day-to-day legal matters and help manage external counsel supporting business needs
