About the Position
The Sioux Falls Family YMCA is seeking a passionate and experienced AP Tutor to join our after-school program. The role focuses on preparing middle and high school students for Advanced Placement (AP) coursework by fostering academic readiness and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to middle and high school students in various AP subjects (e.g., Math, Science, English, History).
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, and study strategies for AP-level coursework.
- Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate materials and activities to build foundational skills for middle schoolers preparing for AP classes.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment with the YMCA’s mission of academic excellence.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and session attendance.
- Act as a mentor and motivator, inspiring students to reach their academic goals.
Qualifications
- Background in education, with teaching or tutoring experience preferred (retired educators encouraged to apply).
- Strong knowledge of at least one AP subject area and familiarity with AP curriculum standards.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and academic abilities.

Schedule
