Siouxland Coalition Against Human Trafficking Administrator
Position Summary:
The Administrator serves as the primary facilitator for the non-profit Siouxland Coalition Against Human Trafficking (SCAHT) organization. The position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the non-profit’s operations, programs, and resources in alignment with the SCAHT mission. The Administrator is responsible to the Board of Directors and reports directly to the Chairperson and works collaboratively with board members, volunteers, donors, and all other stakeholders to advance the organization’s mission and achieve its goals.
Essential Job Functions:
The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Facilitation and Strategic Vision
• Facilitate in the planning processes that align with SCAHT’s mission and strategic objectives. • Organize fundraising and grant writing efforts.
2. Board Support
• Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement programs, policies, procedures, and governance structure.
• Collaborate with the Board Chairperson to schedule and prepare agenda, communicate, and distribute materials, including the monthly treasurer’s reports and meeting minutes for the Executive and General/Board meetings.
• Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
• Collaborate closely with the Board and Executive Committee, ensuring prompt communication of significant updates, requests, upcoming events, and concerns.
• Identify and communicate to the Board in October the upcoming December expiration of terms for members, determine the interest of those members in serving another term, and notify the Board of their intentions as well as the number of anticipated open positions.
• Prepare and provide information and orientation for new Board members, including contact information of Board members, By-Laws, and other pertinent information.
• In January, prepare a comprehensive list of SCAHT activities for the previous year as both a Board informational piece and a handout for events, presentations, etc.
3. Program Development and Management
• Collaborate with the Board Outreach Coordinator to foster partnerships and collaborations with other organizations to enhance program impact and reach.
• Attend relevant meetings, training courses, and webinars.
• Maintain records of training and presentations, documenting details such as audience groups, presentation dates, attendance figures, presenters, etc. Provide monthly reports on these activities and compile an annual summary at the end of the year.
• Coordinate activities for January, designated as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, including organizing proclamations from city/county councils, boards, etc.
• Order and pick up supplies such as return address labels, pens, lip balm, swag, printed materials for SCAHT use, and events/presentations.
• Coordinate the transport of equipment (e.g. tables and chairs, awning, exhibit) from storage to events; set up; and return.
4. Volunteer Management and Coordination
• Engage and support volunteers.
• Maintain an up-to-date and precise email and phone contact list.
• Coordinate volunteers, including providing information needed by those offering to work on a project and following up on the project.
5. Community Engagement and Advocacy
• Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for SCAHT.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and speaking engagements.
• Prepare communications such as emails, reports, and correspondence.
• Write, edit, and update documents, reports, and SCAHT educational material.
• Prepare and send monthly SCAHT informational emails to the email list.
• Respond to requests for information about human trafficking or SCAHT.
• Follow up on requests/suggestions made at the Executive Committee and general (Board) meetings.
• Assist with maintaining the SCAHT website and social media accounts.
• Answer the SCAHT cell phone.
Education Requirements
• Familiarity with human trafficking issues and resources is required.
• Minimum 2- years of administrative experience in the non-profit sector or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience/Qualification Requirements
• Sound decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of board members, volunteers, community partners, and the public.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and attention to detail skills.
• Strong writing skills including good grammar which produces clean and logical messages.
• Knowledge of human trafficking issues and available resources. Siouxland Coalition Against Human Trafficking
(SCAHT): SCAHT is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit that educates the public on the issues of human trafficking, with a focus on prevention, collaborating with local agencies to ensure that human trafficking victims and survivors have the necessary help while advocating both legislatively and with local institutions on behalf of victims and survivors. The Administrator is responsible for the facilitation of the day-to-day functions of the Coalition.
