Wage: $18.50-21.50/hr. DOE
POSITION SUMMARY: The Medication Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for obtaining all prior authorizations, processing imaging referrals and prior authorizations, and maintaining medication refills per Siskiyou Community Health Center’s (SCHC’s) refill protocol.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains all medication prior authorization requests through com.
- Notifies the patient’s provider of prior authorization requests and any additional supporting documentation needed.
- Keeps providers up to date on the prior authorization status of their
- Monitors and completes prior authorizations.
- Utilizes SCHC’s medication refill protocol to address all medication refill requests.
- Properly documents all information related to prior authorizations and refill requests in the patient’s medical record in the Electronic Health Record.
- Monitors and completes imaging referrals.
- Completes all other duties as
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of medications and medical
- Proficiency in computer and internet
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, and carrying.
- Vision and hearing corrected to normal range.
- Physical mobility within the office.
HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS:
- Minimal exposure to infectious diseases and airborne
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position is 100% office
