Rest Area Landscape Maintenance Laborer

Position Overview: As a Rest Area Maintenance Worker and Janitor, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of designated rest areas. This role is crucial in maintaining a positive experience for travelers and ensuring that facilities are well-maintained and operational.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and Sanitization:
• Perform regular cleaning of restrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, and mirrors.
• Ensure rest areas are free from litter and debris by regularly emptying trash receptacles and sweeping floors.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces to maintain hygiene standards.
• Grounds and Facility Maintenance:
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the rest area grounds, including picnic areas, walkways, and parking lots.
• Monitor and replenish restroom supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
• Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed promptly to ensure a safe environment for visitors.
• Safety and Security:
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential safety hazards or security concerns.
• Take necessary precautions to address any hazards promptly, such as wet floors or broken fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations at all times.
• Customer Service:
• Provide assistance and information to travelers as needed, directing them to facilities and amenities.
• Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor when interacting with the public.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work cooperatively with other maintenance staff and supervisors to accomplish daily tasks and projects.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate schedules and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in janitorial or maintenance work is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness and hygiene.
• Physical ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capable of safely using cleaning equipment and tools.
