What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Engineer position at SISL Global?
SCOPE:
Provide the relevant resource to plan, configure and migrate between 74 – 94 offices from old network to the MMC network in NA.
1. Smart Hands
1.Required on a half or full day basis as required
2.Undertake simple tasks at the office location, including
i. Moving or checking network and power cables
ii. Racking or replacing network equipment
iii. Labelling of equipment
iv. Audit or documentation of sites and
v. Testing of equipment post installation.
vi. Documentation of equipment or circuits on site
vii. Handling shipping or boxing equipment
2. Dedicated Contingent Worker
1. Dedicated to the program for 12 months, working alongside MMC’s resource with the requirement to work weekends.
2. Undertake tasks :
i. Coordinating the cabling requirements from cabling vendor e.g. how many connections for AP’s, what type of fibre is required for switches?
ii. Planning network installations with the assigned project managers.
iii. Working closely with relevant teams to undertake successful migrations (desktop support, real estate, Audio Visual,Security, etc.
iv. Testing or troubleshooting device or circuit issues.
v. Complex cabling including media converters, for example copper to fibre converters.
