Sisters Empowering S.I.S.T.A.S., Inc. is a program founded in 2006 in Atlanta, GA, now based in Houston, TX, designed to empower teenage girls in grades 9-12. The program focuses on providing life skills, education, and guidance to prepare participants for successful and well-rounded lives. Through real-world experiences, we aim to shape their dreams, mold their minds, and positively influence their character.
Role Description
This role is for consideration for the Community Outreach & Advocacy Director seat on our Board of Directors. The role will be responsible for developing relationships with community partners as we look to increase the span and outreach of the program. Additionally, this role will be responsible for engagement with donors and garnering additional support for the organizations mission and vision within the community. We are looking for someone located in Houston, TX.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Fundraising and donor engagement experience
- Experience in advocacy or community outreach
- Grant writing experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or work experience in Social Sciences, Public Relations, or related field
