What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Home Visiting Specialist position at Sisters of Charity Health System?
The Early Childhood Resource Center is recruiting for a full-time Early Childhood Home Visiting Specialist. The Home Visitor recruits families into the SPARK kindergarten readiness program, works with families to assess children’s developmental strengths and challenges, delivers in-home lessons that cultivate kindergarten readiness, and ensures early intervention occurs as needed to foster school readiness.
- Reports to: Program Supervisor
- Working conditions: Flexible schedule required, some bending and lifting required, travel throughout the community required, visits to families’ homes required
- Recruit families with young children for participation in the program.
- Administer developmental screenings and assessments.
- Maintain fidelity to the program model.
- Provide in-home kindergarten readiness services, delivering educational lessons that follow the individual child's learning plan.
- Act as a liaison between the SPARK program and the local school district to ensure a smooth transition into kindergarten.
- Participate in responsive services meetings to advocate for the needs of families.
- Link families to appropriate services, resources, and programs as recommended by the responsive services team.
- Maintain clear, well-organized, and updated documentation.
- Participate in all aspects of program evaluation and research.
- Ensure strict confidentiality regarding all matters involving children, families, and Early Childhood Resource Center staff members.
- Communicate emergencies and critical changes to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Attend parent partner meetings, training sessions, and events.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required.
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred) or home visitation experience
- Ability to work independently

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and databases
- Valid driver’s license
