We are seeking a high energy and reliable Day Porter to perform School Custodial responsibilities at our High School and Athletic Facilities. The Day Porter works with the Facilities and Maintenance team.

- 3-5 years Custodial experience in an academic environment preferred
- Successfully complete background screening
- Must be reliable and professional
- Must possess the ability to take verbal and written instructions in English
- Prepared to execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner
- Monitor and stock janitorial paper supply inventory in classrooms, restrooms and locker rooms daily.
- Perform daily cafeteria duties; including setting up/cleaning/putting away tables, sweeping and mopping floors and trash removal.
- Perform weekly campus trash pickup in the grounds vehicle.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas.
- Maintain parking lot and building exterior cleanliness.
- Follow safety protocol and use safety hazard signs when appropriate.
- Prepare school facilities for daily operations. Ensure lights are on, pathways to entrances are clean and hazard free, restrooms are operational and stocked, raise flags, observe and report any mechanical issues or building deficiencies to Facilities Maintenance Director.
- Assist with event set up and clean up (moving tables, chairs, sweeping mopping, etc).
- Respond to immediate custodial needs (spills, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Maintain sidewalks and entrances by removing snow and using ice removal methods when appropriate.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Director for athletic facility custodial needs.
- Assist with delivering items (e.g. supplies, mail, packages, furniture, etc.) for the purpose of distributing materials to the appropriate parties within the school facilities.
- Perform small repairs, such as light bulb replacement and touch up painting as needed or requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Provide minor maintenance around school. Knowledge and ability to use mechanical equipment related to custodial responsibilities (e.g. Vacuums, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors etc.).
- Demonstrate industry knowledge regarding proper cleaning, chemical usage, storage and handling.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulation and National Fire Protection Code.
- Must be reliable and professional.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills.
- Ability to provide a positive and helpful experience to students, staff and visitors.
- Successfully complete background screening and training.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without a mechanical lift.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to stand walk, talk, sit, and hear; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulder height, reach below the waist, or lift as needed.
- Proper lifting techniques are required.
