Our Sr Director of Sales will work out of our Northeast Business Unit, located in Harrisburg, PA. The Sr Director will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing activities related to the identification, pursuit, and capture of commercial construction opportunities, while developing long-term business growth strategies. Priorities will include identifying potential leads, assisting in managing the client relationship, working with leadership to coordinate and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), and partnering with marketing to propose collateral for client distribution.

Sr Director Of Sales Responsibilities

  • Quickly build solid relationships and rapport with customers, prospective customers, vendors and distributors, as well as sales and marketing teams.
  • Identify win strategies and effectively guide the internal team to successfully secure contracts.
  • Champion our mission and vision through their efforts to share our value proposition while identifying and executing a plan to provide items necessary to secure a funded contract.
  • Establish and gather sufficient information about the market and individual prospects to target new customers and obtain project work.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company objectives.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities.
  • Direct marketing efforts by presenting market research to marketing directors and suggesting strategies to expand market research within geographical territories.
  • Supports the preparation of all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Research emerging trends and recommends new company offerings to satisfy customers’ needs.
  • Develops and manages strategic partnerships to grow business.
  • Presents business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management.
  • Assesses marketing and sales as well as supplier and vendor operations, recommending relationships as needed.
  • Serves as a mentor to internal business consultants on best practices within construction industry and sales organizations.
  • Manages relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and promote additional responsibilities.
  • Negotiate and close agreements with clients, both new and existing.
  • Participation in industry related or targeted market associations, tradeshows, or events.
  • Ensures all deliverables are met in a timely manner.

Sr Director Of Sales Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; or relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing with appropriate construction knowledge.
  • Documented track record for closing construction deals.
  • Past experience and success in account management.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a professional services sales organization larger than $200M.
  • Demonstrated ability to close professional services contracts ranging from $500k to $30M.
  • Firm understanding of public construction procurement and market conditions in PA, MD, WV, and VA.
  • Prior public speaking experience and familiarity with PA public school boards.
  • Ability to lead school board and administrators to conclusions on project objectives.
  • Past experience working with public agencies to develop and plan major facilities reconstruction, renovation, and construction feasibility on new construction and/or large renovation programs.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, including effective communication and negotiation skills.
