We are a Chinese-American family in Watertown seeking a reliable elder caregiver for a female dementia patient. You will be responsible for assisting her with basic daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being.
Primary Responsibilities:
Wellness Checks: Ensure that the patient is healthy and safe. Report any changes or concerns to the family.
Personal Care: Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and other personal care tasks by prompting patient to perform needed tasks. Provide incontinence care with respect and sensitivity.
Housecleaning: Maintain a clean and safe living environment through light housekeeping.
Cooking: Prepare simple meals for breakfast and lunch, and dinner.
Companionship: Keep the patient engaged with various activities by going through simple workouts, playing games, etc.
Additionally, we would like for the companion to accompany the patient on walks to the local grocery store when the weather allows.
The ability to speak Cantonese would be a major bonus but is not required.
