Data Management Assistant (3301) 50% FTE

Description

The primary function of the position is to provide statistical support, and other related duties, to achieve success in projects for the Department of Population Science and Policy (PSP) and the Office of Correctional Medicine. The appointee will be responsible for collecting, preparing, analyzing, and interpreting data related to studies being supported by PSP and the Office of Correctional Medicine.

• Responsible for the formatting, compilation, and maintenance of research data.
• Links data across multiple sources.
• Prepares data for analysis by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data.
• Processes large amounts data sets for statistical modeling and graphic analysis
• Plans procedures and techniques for solution of statistical problems.
• Analyzes quantitative and/or qualitative statistical data.
• Interprets results of statistical analyses to meet project goals.
• Reports results of descriptive statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables.
• Meets and coordinates with researchers across the school to determine project needs.
• Works with others in PSP and the Office of Correctional Medicine to determine project plans and ensure goals are met.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours in statistics and a minimum of 6 semester hours in algebra, geometry, calculus, or statistics at the college level
• Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience that required the use of statistical, graphical, and database software packages, such as SAS, R, and SQL
