POSITION BEGINS immediately as a training postion for the remainder of the 2024-2025 School Year with official position starting August 2025 for the 2025/26 school year. New employees typically begin at step 1 on the salary schedule.
Salary Schedule is based on the 2025-2026 school year. New hires typically begin at Step 1 on the Salary Schedule. Starting salary for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year is $17.75/hr.
This is a 10-month/renewable position, that includes benefits of paid medical and leave. This position works off of of a 209-day calendar.

TITLE: Elementary School Finance Secretary, Classified, 1.0 FTE (8 hours per day, 8:30am to 4:30pm, includes a 30 min. paid lunch break)
JOB TYPE: This is a classified position
RESPONSIBLE TO: Elementary School Principal
ASSIGNMENT: Under direct supervision, the Elementary Secretary performs a variety of finance, clerical work related to the school information system, state reporting, student attendance, building use, immunizations, registration, student health and personnel in the elementary schools. The position requires some use of independent judgment, but the work is generally performed under well defined rules, standards, policies, and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic ability to use grammar, speaking and punctuation as required
- Ability to use fractions, decimals and commercial arithmetic
- Microsoft Suite proficiency and strong computer skills
- Data entry experience
- Prefer experience with budgeting process and budget coding
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Finance tracking and coordination.
- Management of the school information system, including master scheduling.
- Assist with state reporting requirements.
- Transfer of school records, update incoming and outgoing records.
- Maintain all permanent records filed and maintained in an organized fashion.
- Record student enrollment information.
- Preparation of student reports for the State of Oregon.
- Records daily attendance of individual students and monitors attendance.
- Makes contact with parents and guardians to verify absences.
- Processes telephone and written messages regarding student attendance.
- Maintenance of schedules and grading in computer systems.
- Type and send correspondence from administrative staff.
- Operation of Multi line phone and relaying of messages.
- File all required materials.
- Administer first aid.
- Medication administration.
- Operation of office machines.
- Help with other related duties as assigned by the administrative staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Maintains satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to organize and maintain efficient time schedule.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students and the public.
- Good communication, organization and computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in a wide variety of locations, including school environments.
- May work with high stress student, family, or personnel situations.
- May require occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Involves bending, lifting, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, fine manipulation, twisting/turning and repetitive movements.
- Requires the use of computers and office equipment.
CONDITIONS: This is a classified 10- month renewable position.
SALARY: Will be determined by terms of the current negotiated agreement. The amount due under the contract will be pro-rated monthly in accordance with district policy.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
