What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art & Sign Tech position at Six Flags Theme Parks?
Specific Duties and Responsibility:
- Producing high quality, detailed work in a variety of mediums (lettering, illustration, sculpting, paint, woodworking, etc.)
- Constructing signs out of various materials – including but not limited to vinyl application, using power tools to cut out detailed parts, prep sanding, painting/lettering, and final assembly
- Assist with constructing props and staging, animated characters and figures
- Must be well organized and capable of maintaining a clean and safe work environment while keeping the shop tools and paint are kept in good working order
- Assist other maintenance departments with park tasks
- Repair and replace leather work on the Silver Star Carousel
- All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 yrs. old
- Previous sign or art work experience preferred
- Knowledge and experience in pneumatic systems preferred
- Must have experience in creating stage props and staging
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and overtime as assigned
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record
- Highly motivated, self-starter, detail-oriented, and ability to work well unsupervised
- Must be able to use ladders, stoop, bend, squat, and kneel repeatedly
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
