Director of Human Resources Business Partner

As the Director HR Business Partner for SIXT North America, you will lead and shape the strategic People agenda across our rapidly growing business in the U.S. and Canada. In this pivotal role, you will act as a trusted advisor to our executive and senior leadership teams, enabling business success through people. You will oversee a team of 4 HR Business Partners and 2 Employee Relations Managers, ensuring alignment with global HR strategies while tailoring solutions to meet the specific needs of the North American organization. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

• You partner with regional leadership to understand business priorities and translate them into people strategies that drive performance, engagement, and growth
• You create a collaborative, agile, and impact-driven HR function by leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of HR Business Partners and Employee Relations Managers
• You collaborate with business leaders and the Talent Acquisition team to plan organizational structures, succession pipelines, and strategic hiring aligned with business needs
• You champion a high-performance culture through targeted engagement strategies, leadership coaching, and initiatives that strengthen employee morale and retention
• You lead organizational transformation efforts and support leaders through change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and employee adoption
• You oversee the Employee Relations function to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling of employee issues. Drive proactive ER strategies and risk mitigation
• You use HR analytics to influence strategic decisions, measure impact, and identify trends or opportunities for improvement
• You align North American People initiatives with global HR strategy and contribute North American perspectives to global HR projects
  
  
  

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

• Experience You have at least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including 5 years in a leadership Business Partner role, ideally in a fast-paced, international environment
• Education You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred
• Technical Proficiency You have a strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws, employment practices, business acumen with a strategic mindset and hands-on operational capability, Canadian HR experience is a plus
• Soft Skills You have exceptional interpersonal, communication, stakeholder management skills and proven ability to lead and develop teams across multiple locations and time zones
• Commitment to Excellence You are success-oriented and willing to take on multiple tasks and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-scaling, and performance-driven culture
