Housekeeping management is part of the core of hotel operations and plays a vital role in ensuring guest satisfaction. The housekeeping manager is essential to supervising housekeeping staff and maintaining high standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Supervising housekeeping team members
· Training and developing team members
· Assist in physically inspecting guest rooms, public areas and exterior contact areas for cleanliness.
· Creating new initiatives to improve efficiency of guest standards and operational improvements
· Monitoring inventory and reducing or eliminating waste.
· Investigating and resolving any problems, complaints, or questions
· Communicating with guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional way
· Assigning duties and creating schedules for housekeeping team members in accordance with labor standards and forecasted occupancy
· Assists in the conduct of pre-shift meetings for room attendants and house persons.
· Monitor consumption and order replacement of guest, mini bar and cleaning supplies while maintaining budget objectives
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
· Ensuring all departmental service standards are upheld
· Ensuring guest satisfaction; addressing guest issues and/or any correspondence; resolving any problems that may arise.
· Ensuring that the entire hotel maintains a clean and orderly appearance
· Observing and teaching housekeeping employees
· Implementing appropriate systems, policies, and procedures.
· Organizing inventory and verifying supplies.
· Effective communication using the interdepartmental communication system
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· College Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related field preferred
· For Union properties only: Must possess a minimum of three (3)to five (5) years Hotel experience.
Knowledge:
· Knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
Skills:
· Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
· Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
· Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
· Problem solving skills

Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
