We are seeking an experienced full-time HR Generalist for our Indianapolis, IN office to help support our firm’s continued growth.

The HR Generalist will help support various important functions such as hiring and onboarding, training and development, and compensation and benefits, among others.

Job duties include:
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
Sources candidates on job boards, resume databases, social media, professional networks, and through referrals.
Oversees and helps manage the ATS and the job and candidate data stored therein.
Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
Collaborates with preparing and extending employment offers.
Conducts or acquires background checks and verifications.
Coordinates and conducts new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
Assists HR Manager with data preparation for compensation and benefit surveys.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
Designs, develops and delivers training programs and webinars, in conjunction with IT and others, for onboarding, policies and procedures education, compliance, and other training needs.
Helps coordinate leave management and tracking.
Gathers information about college job fairs, coordinates selection of targeted schools and registration, and participates in job fairs for recruiting.
Assists with recruitment of students for summer internships and the design of internship agenda and program.
May assist with immigration-related visa tracking and forms and some Green Card PERM related recruitment postings and candidate interviews.
Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook and contribute to policy development.
Performs additional other HR duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR role coordinating recruitment, benefits administration, training, compensation, and compliance in a corporate environment.
PHR or SHRM-CP Certification.
SHRMs Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus.
Prior knowledge of civil engineering industry a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
Strong interviewing skills.
Must possesses strong attention to detail.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Proficient in and possessing prior experience with HRIS and ATS software.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
