Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead our HR & Credentialing function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and working in collaboration with the Human Resources Committee, this role provides both strategic leadership and hands-on execution across all aspects of human resources and medical staff credentialing. As a key member of the leadership team, you will drive organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, workforce development, and a culture of engagement and high performance. This role offers the opportunity to shape policies, enhance employee experiences, and ensure compliance while aligning HR strategies with business objectives.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership & Employee Experience
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on HR best practices, employee relations, and workforce planning.
- Foster a culture of engagement, inclusion, and professional growth through innovative talent management strategies.
- Oversee HR policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
- Lead and refine the recruitment strategy in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, ensuring a seamless hiring process and exceptional onboarding experience.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance leadership capabilities, employee performance, and career development.
Performance Management & Employee Relations
- Guide managers on performance management, coaching, and employee development strategies.
- Provide oversight and recommendations for corrective action plans, ensuring fairness, compliance, and alignment with company values.
- Address workplace concerns, foster open communication, and drive conflict resolution initiatives.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
- Manage and optimize compensation and benefits programs, including vendor relationships, plan design, and cost analysis.
- Oversee HR compliance, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws while proactively updating policies to maintain best practices.
- Administer HR systems and maintain accurate employment records.
Medical Staff Credentialing Leadership
- Oversee and ensure the efficiency of medical staff credentialing processes.
Culture, Engagement & Organizational Development
- Act as a champion for a positive and high-performing workplace culture, implementing initiatives that drive engagement and retention.
- Collaborate on employee recognition programs and organizational events to strengthen workplace morale.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in HR strategy, employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, compliance, and workforce development.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and credentialing processes.
- Proven ability to partner with leadership and influence change at an organizational level.
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- HR certification (SHRM-SCP or SPHR) is highly desirable.
- Some travel required, locally and to Alaska
