MUSEUM ASSISTANT

Skulls Unlimited is an osteological supply company (replica and real animal skulls and skeletons) serving the educational, medical and consumer industry. SKELETONS: The Museum of Osteology, provides quality educational opportunities and allows school groups and the public to explore the form and function of the skeletal system.

Our museum is currently displaying over 450 skeletons from all corners of the world, visitors have a unique opportunity to compare and contrast many rare species normally not seen in museum exhibits.

General Museum

• Welcome guests to the museum while ensuring their experience is positive, pleasant and memorable.

• Operate the cash register to accurately complete all sales transactions including admission to the museum and purchases made in our amazing gift shop!

• Assist with stocking and maintaining the merchandise displayed in a manner that is engaging to the customer, encourages retail sales, and ensures that all product information is accurate.

• Assist with the completion of all opening and closing checklists correctly and consistently throughout the Museum and Gift Shop.

• Assist with Opening and Closing Museum and Gift Shop Registers, as well as preparing daily deposits.

• Keeping the museum and restrooms in clean and working order. This may include vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning the museum carpet. This also includes cleaning display glass in the museum and executing the required opening and closing checklists daily to ensure consistent completion and cleanliness.

• Assisting in tidying our exhibits and museum specimens on display when needed.

• Assisting in any special museum projects related to our museum remodel/renovation, creating new museum signs, and scavenger hunts.

Education Department

• Learning and teaching SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology’s educational programs and curriculum.

• Welcome field trips and conducting educational programs and tours while complying with SKELETONS curriculum.

• Maintaining the organization of the education teaching collection and teaching materials and keeping the classroom clean.

• Communicating effectively with teachers, group leaders, and student participants of all ages.

• Staffing on-site and off-site education programs, STEM nights, trade shows, conferences, and museum events.

• Training on generating and tracking booking leads for field trips, adult groups, education programs, and outreach programs.

• Training on how to process payments.

• Assisting the Education Director in special museum projects including our new traveling exhibit.
