A Skilled Nursing Facility is seeking an Assistant Administrator to join its team. This role will provide vital support to the Facility Administrator in managing daily operations, enhancing profitability, ensuring top-notch patient care, and contributing to critical business decisions. The Assistant Administrator will gain in-depth experience in both the clinical and business aspects of managing a long-term care facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Administrator with the daily management of facility operations, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Aid in developing and maintaining the facility’s annual budget, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Support efforts in census development, managing accounts receivable and collections, maximizing Net Operating Income, ensuring resident care is prioritized, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Promote positive employee relations, reduce turnover, drive a positive return on investment, and help implement effective business strategies and core programs.
- Perform daily rounds throughout the facility to monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure the facility remains in full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist with resident placements, ensuring that the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of residents are met while maintaining financial compliance.
- Safeguard and promote Resident Rights, ensuring residents are empowered to exercise and protect those rights.
- Investigate and resolve any resident or patient complaints.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups, manage sensitive situations, allocate resources for resident care, assess operational and staffing needs, interpret complex documents, and work flexible hours.
Education and Experience:
- Must be a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the state of employment.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Previous leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is essential.
Physical Requirements:
- Flexible work schedule with occasional overnight travel required.
- Availability for 24/7 on-call support.
- Physical demands include walking, reaching, bending, lifting, prolonged sitting, grasping, fine motor coordination, pushing and pulling, and the ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, with or without mechanical assistance.
